Description

Another quick one for today.
It collects space waste and turns it into biodegradable metal that will eventually become fresh air :0

Hi! I'm from :iconprojectcomment:

I picked your work to comment because it's all about design. I liked your idea very much. Extra points for the subject. Vehicles are pretty hard, they are rare and they usually need to convey deep fundamentals of perspective, form and usability. There's a spaceship with utility, and not another military spaceship. Interesting shape and a very clean linework and workflow. It's a very mature project, very mature work. Just before I go on... keep doing those. They are amazing.

I want to note too that I liked your thumbnails. This one and the water purifier.

Now I'll make some suggestions, hoping that it'll help you out :) The first thing is, as this is a discussion about design, we need to pay attention on form, as form suggests function, and we tend to start with form on thumbnails. Maybe your work could've been more readable, and to do that you can for example, research the mundane and life, as those are things that we as human beings easily relate to. It's cool to have nice shapes, curvy lines contrasting with sharp edges, but maybe the overall structure of something that sucks trash and then ejects biodegradable material could have inspiration from different things like a a vacuum cleaner, those fishes with big mouths, maybe something with a big mouth and claws and so forth. So you might look at those. Also we can always benefit from a bit of understanding of how things actually work. A power core exposed on the front of the ship might not be the best place to have your energy source (although it's looking incredible, maybe I'm really wrong in here).

I'm guessing here you're following FZD, but in case you're not, there's this nice video you can see about design strategies that might help you to wrap up your future works:

Feng can totally talk better than me about design, work strategies, decision making and all the sort of stuff.

Hope I have been of some help :)
